Nada mucho. Woke up, brekkie, walked with dirty laundry to an outside laundromat in the Carrefour parking lot.
Started laundry, where a local woman who got there seconds before
us claimed both of the 10kg machines with three shirts in one machine
and a pair of pants in the other, exclaiming "my son is a chef and
needs clean clothes"! She was pleasant, but it seemed strange
that she'd pay €20 for maybe four garments and not use the cheaper
5kg machines. Time to cram our clothes into the small machines.
It'll smell a bit rank soon enough.
So we crossed over and walked around the Carrefour and stared at various stuff in the Carrefour. Not a hypermarket, not an Express, just a Market). I looked for Haribo bears and Pik for trail snacks--found them!--and a USB-C 2m cable--did not, but found about 50 different types of HP printer cartridges. There weren't many weird things in there to be found, no aisle filled with Old El Paso Mexican Dinner kits, like you see in Australia, but there was the gluten-free and protein-maxxxxx section just like any Albertson's at home.
Back to the room via the post office for shipping boxes. The tour company that set up this mega-walk had 'helpfully' sent over 16 topo maps and three booklets covering the whole walk. We have the topo maps on our phones, and the booklets are somewhat useful but just additional weight. And we overpacked stuff--a couple too many socks and shirts for me, Chris brought a collapsable duffel bag that we won't need until we leave--so away it all went into two boxes for €14.99 each to our friends Ken and Jesse in Carcossne.
Afternoon was lazy. It was rather stupid hot outside, 39C, and even for us Sonoran desert dwellers the additional humidity made it challenging, better to stay in our hotel room with air conditioning and laze and nap here and there. I did venture to the bar for a beer and work on my very OCD coding project (a very OCD script to ingest and deduplicate photos based on perceptual image hashing, so even edited photos are deduped).
Dinner was a bit of just a "go to the bakery at 6pm and do they have sandwich left" and they didn't, so it was bread and cheese, plus an apple tart. Getting a bit tired of the same meal for every lunch and dinner, sigh.
