Headed out early to Mt San Jacinto for an alpine hike--just something different than the usual San Diego hike. It was pretty skies, great scenery, but not many wildflowers, and the meadows were dry as well.
Other bonus: it was a Tuesday so there weren't many people, save the two dozen tweenagers hiking up from their summer camp in Idyllwild!
All in all it was a great hike. 10 miles round trip, 2400 feet elevation gain, highest elevation 8846 feet at the lookout (that’s 16km, 730 meters, 2700m elevation... more or less)
