Day 19: Newbury, MA
Fri 28 Jun 2024
Miles ridden today: 0

I did nothing today, and it was a pretty blue sky day--and the first day of the trip where it didn't get above 85F which was a big relief.

I spent a good chunk of the morning staring at my cool and wet weather clothing and wondering when I'd actually wear my rainsuit, and couldn't find my waterproof gloves which worried me needlessly. I did not like the forecast for the day after tomorrow--rain and thunderstorms from the west into the Gulf of Maine, and the ferry company had already texted me and said "watch out, rough weather may cause a rough crossing for your trip on Sunday". Maybe I'll wake up early and ride north quickly and take the ferry tomorrow, on Saturday? Needs careful watching.

Ken on the other hand spent much of the morning between y meetings worried about how rabbits evaded the security cameras and fencing in the garden 🙂

For lunch, we did head over to Bob's Lobster on Plum Island in the eMustang (I liked that car a lot), and I got a chunk of my lower shin taken out by a greenhead fly waiting outside. Ow ow ow. But it was the only one I felt.

In the evening, Ken invited some friends over, and we enjoyed pizza and adult beverages.

Thanks to Ken and Jon for hosting me for two nights.
