Another zero day. Around the mountain to the next stop, Adelboden. And puttering around looking at things in town, on a rainy/snowy day.
Luckily for us, there wasn't some weird bus/train/bus/bus connection between Kandersteg and Adelboden--just a single bus and 56 minutes of down one valley and up the next. Pretty outside, and we dropped our bags off at the Adler around 1. Our room wasn't ready, and we took the cable way up to Eigensteinalp, a 1900m high plateau with pretty trails and maybe a restauarant or three.
Up on top, yep, it's cold. And snowing a bit, enough to stick but not enough to cover the paths. We grabbed a bit to eat at the restauarant: something called Hay Soup?, and it was tasty, like mushroom soup.
Back down to the hotel where it's just raining, and a window side trail to watch the clouds over the mountains to the east. We'll be doing that tomorrow--forecast is for cool sunshine for the next four days, so with the snow the views will be spectacular.
Just gotta remember the wool leggings.
