Arid Lands Botanic Gardens, South Australia
A kind of 'bridge' day between the arid lands of inland Australia and the wine regions of South Australia.
First, we walked around the Arid Lands Botanic Garden in Port Augusta, which was mildly interesting.
First off, it was great to see mountains and greenery after three or so days driving east from Perth. Despite that, or just because I like plants, we ended up first going to the botanic gardens.
Once we got into the Clare Valley, Chris did a pretty good summary of what he thought... that's the next post.
Weird Wildlife Sighting
A big speckled skink under the bushes at the garden.
Where we stayed
- Clare Central Motel, Clare, SA
- \$99 - twin motel room
- Wonderfully large room, great restaurant, friendly owners. Highly recommended.
